We like to travel to interesting and offbeat places. Several years
ago, we chartered a large motor yacht and spent a year exploring the
Pacific.
It was on that incredible journey that we developed our strong appreciation
for the little things that can make or break a cruising experience.
In refitting, furnishing and staffing True North, we have sought to
achieve the highest standards – to deliver the quality of furnishings,
fittings, cuisine and service found only in the world’s finest
hotels – and on the world’s finest yachts.
We believe that – like us – you will find your time aboard
True North to be a true pleasure and an unforgettable experience.”

True North's Crew
Captain John and Chef Maxine White
Plus 1 Crew as needed
Captain John White takes great pleasure on behalf of his crew to welcome
you aboard ‘True North’. Hailing from Perth, Western Australia,
‘Whitey’ is an explorer and traveler by nature. He will thrill
you with tales of his many travels whether it is about his trips across
the Australian outback on motorcycles, a 63-day canoe trip down the Amazon,
sailboat racing on San Francisco Bay and along the California coast and
Mexico or the stories of his many years exploring Central and South America
by land and sea.
Whitey’s background is in electrical and electronics. After ten
years in San Francisco, he set sail with his soon-to-be wife, Maxine,
down the coast to Panama and into the Caribbean. Since arriving in the
British Virgin Islands, Whitey and Max have been operating crewed charter
boats as a team for over 10 years. Recently, he has completed a trans-Atlantic
crossing which brings his blue water miles total to 55,000.
Whitey holds a RYA Yacht Master Ocean and has been a PADI Dive Instructor
for 15 years. He has a passion for teaching scuba diving and encourages
guests to explore this new adventure with him as instructor. Whitey’s
open and confident personality sets any person at ease as he safely guides
the ‘True North’ guests on their sailing adventure.

District and sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge with Whitey. She has
since completed over 45,000 blue water miles. Since marrying on Cane Garden
Bay, Tortola, Whitey and Max have worked in the charter industry for over
10 years when they have hosted over 2000 guests. After a few years in
the BVI’s, they spent two and a half years chartering the San Blas
Islands and Panama during which they completed 18 transits with guests
of the Panama Canal. Max’s treats from the galley are a combination
of the cuisines of the countries she has visited and explored while utilizing
fresh local ingredients. While living in Australia, she owned her own
personal chef and catering company and is a major award winner at a Caribbean
boat show culinary competition. Maxine is a PADI Dive Master who is as
